Three Students Receive Awards in the Colorado Hearts and Minds Poetry Contest

Through the Colorado Hearts and Minds Poetry Contest students of any age can participate and go against other students in other counties. It is a contest dedicated to the expression of creativity through poetry, and a forum in which writers can share their thoughts, feelings, and experiences. It's an opportunity for young authors to be published.

Only 64 go through the first round, earning $50 as they advance and receive an addition $50 for each round they advance.. The first place winner earns  $500 and the runner ups can get either a laptop computer, tablet, iPod touch, "School's Out" spree, or an Amazon gift card. 

Skyler Lundgren won $100 and a mini certificate of recognition for contributing to the contest. Julie Cardy and Neveah Dick also received awards.
